Photocentric are a well- established brand in the field of polymer printing and are at the top of their game in terms of 3D printing innovation. With the launch of their latest product, the Liquid Crystal, Photocentric wanted to bring 3D printing into a more affordable market for designers and engineers alike.
Posh Gecko were commissioned to produce a film for the Liquid Crystal, to be used for online promotional purposes. Armed with a heavily detailed brief, and with the use of a Red One MX camera, we travelled to two different locations to film three different scenarios. A trendy rustic studio in Shoreditch formed our first scene, and the Photocentric lab and workshop the second. Three actors/actresses were hired to portray a young independent designer, a lab assistant and an engineer. The ultimate aim of this project was to portray the unique qualities of the printer, in terms of its accessibility to a diverse market of modern professionals.
After the huge success of the Liquid Crystal 3D (this printers big brother) the team at PhotoCentric decided the time was right to launch the Liquid Crystal MINI. Where did they want launch this revolutionary product? At the biggest 3D Printer show on the planet!
At this point the MINI was nothing more than a concept in the manufacture stage so we knew that we would have to create the entire video from scratch, in CG.
It was decided that this video would act as a teaser, or a preview for the launch to help build awareness and excitement before the exhibition and then across all of their screens on their stand.
