Multichannel Campaign for Hisense

Hisense are a Chinese consumer electronics giant who continue to grow their marketshare year on year in the UK. With a diverse range of products that offer market leading technology at an affordable price, they are constantly looking at new ways to raise awareness and grow their brand.

Ponderosa and Hisense decided the best way to take the brand to the next level would be to launch their very first combined TVC, VOD, Digital & Social campaign. The campaign would consist of 6 videos: 5 videos focussing on key products and an overall ‘Hero’ video that features all 5 products.

Ponderosa handled the creative side, devising an overall concept - ‘Say Hi’ - that would put Hisense’s products in the spotlight and link all of the videos together. They then required a production agency they could trust to deliver their vision. After a competitive pitching process, Posh Gecko were chosen as their production partner who would produce the CGI and video sections of the campaign.

Tech Talk - How We Did It

With storyboards and guidelines provided by Ponderosa, our team got straight to work bringing the concept to life, using a combination of Cinema4D and After Effects.

Although 3D models of the products were provided by the client, they still required extensive manipulation to ensure the products looked photorealistic. Another challenge was creating the 3D environments the products would inhabit, we didn’t want an empty ‘studio’ feel so we spent a lot of time adding texture and light to bring them to life.

Once the editing was finished, a punchy music track was chosen to give each video more ‘bounce’ and personality... be warned, it’s a real ear worm so expect to be humming it in the coming days!

With production complete, we provided a number of different ProRes, HD and SD versions suitable for the platforms they would be used on. We were also required to provide versions with clocking numbers suitable for submission to the TV stations.

Ponderosa and Hisense were delighted with the final videos and the ‘Say Hi’ campaign was launched in July 2019. To see a concept go from storyboard, through production, to watching it on your TV at home is always a very special moment.
